Episode 1.1 "The Room"

[Derek is playing his music loudly and Casey knocks on his door]
Casey: Can you please turn it down? Derek!
[Derek opens his door]
Derek: Who are you?
Casey: I'm the step-sister you've always wanted.
Derek: Really? 'Cause you look like the ugly stepsister from Snow White.
Casey: That's Cinderella, you freak.

[Casey tries to force Derek out of her room]
Casey: Get out!! (she pushes Derek)
Derek: Is that really any way to treat your new brother?

[Derek walks into the bathroom while Casey is in there]
Derek: You mind?
Casey: Yeah, I was here first.
Derek: Suit yourself.
[Derek prepares to drop his pants so he can use the toilet; Casey quickly exits]

[Casey out-lines her problems to George and Nora]
Casey: Well let's see, A) There's no room for my desk. B) Derek's an idiot.

[Derek wants Casey to do his homework for him]
Casey: Please, it's bad enough we're going to the same school, we're not handing in the same work.
Derek: That's kind of selfish, don't you think?

[Emily and Casey watch Derek in the hallway at school]
Emily: He must have got cuter over the summer.
Casey: No -- you mean Derek??
Emily: You heard of him? Well, I guess when you're the coolest guy in school --
Casey: Derek's considered cool? By who?
Emily: Everybody. He's my next door neightbor but he really doesn't know I exist.
[Derek walks by Emily and Casey]
Emily: Hi Derek!
Derek: (walking right past her) 'Sup.
Emily: (excitedly) I think I got cuter over the summer too!
Casey: Figures he'd ignore me.
Emily: Don't take it personally, okay? It took me three years to get a "'Sup."
Casey: No, I'm your neighbor too. Derek's my step-brother.
Emily: You're Derek's new step-sister? You are so lucky!
Casey: I am so not lucky at all.

[Casey suggests that Derek give up his room to her]
Edwin: Nobody else is even allowed in Derek's room and you want him out?

Casey: I really feel that Derek moving in with Edwin would cause the least amount of distruption.
Derek: Yeah, except of course for me!

[George and Nora start to argue over Casey's desire to switch rooms with Derek]
George: (to Nora) Just be reasonable.
Nora: Maybe you should be reasonable.
Derek: Maybe Casey should be reasonable!
Casey: Maybe Derek should be reasonable!

Edwin: I'm here to speak on behalf of my brother Derek and his room. (reading off of a prepared statement) "Derek's room is more than a room. It's his sancutary. It's where he took his first steps, lost his first tooth and became the man he is today."
Casey: (amused) Today he's a man?
Edwin: Yeah. "Over the years Derek and his room have grown together. Losing it would be like losing a friend."
Casey: Very touching.
Edwin: "Therefore all attempts to take Derek's room must stop immediately or he will be forced to make your life more miserable than it already is."
Casey: Did Derek force you to read that?
Edwin: Force, no. Pay, yeah.
Casey: Leave, you! (she pushes him out the door)
Edwin: Hey don't push the messenger!

Casey: Eavesdropping? Paying your little brother to threaten me? You must be really worried I'm going to get what I want.
Derek: Please. I've got home house advantage. Besides, in my house I always get what I want.
Casey: Aren't we arrogant.
Derek: Yes, we are.

[George and Nora offer to turn the basement into Casey's new bedroom]
Casey: You expect me to sleep in the basement?
Derek: Can we say "Princess"?

Casey: Why isn't Derek being pressured to move down there? It's way more suitable for him than me. A creature like him should live underground.
Lizzie: It's not what he wants.
Casey: What Derek wants, Derek gets.

[Casey plans to get the best of Derek]
Casey: I've got the upper hand because he thinks I'm too nice to be sneaky.

[Nora attempts to explain Casey's manipulations to the rest of the family]
Nora: Casey didn't want the basement and neither did Derek, and then Casey wanted the basement, and then Derek wanted it, which may have been what Casey wanted all along.

Derek: I'm not changing my mind.
Casey: You don't have a mind to change!

Casey: You are one of the most annoying people I've ever met!
Derek: I may be annoying but at least I didn't try and trick you into changing rooms. Since when did the keener become the schemer?
Casey: Since I was forced to move in here and fight for what I deserve!
